Committee of Adjustment, Markham

This page lists the Agenda items on the Committee of Adjustment that affect Ward 5.

The Committee of Adjustment is a committee that is made up solely of Markham residents who make decisions about property variances to the By-Laws that are minor in nature.

This concept behind this committee structure is that it is free from political influence.  If its decisions are not to the liking of the property owner, or the neighbours, the decision can be appealed to the Ontario Municipal Board.

The Committee meets once a month on a Wednesday evening and are held in the Council Chambers at the Markham Civic Centre.  I will endeavour to keep you up to date by listing applications in Ward 5 as they come in.

The Markham Village Shoppes at 58 Main Street Markham

The new owner is going to turn this 60's style shopping area in to a upscale apartment building with retail on the ground floor.  There are a number of variances to do this, and I am supporting all of them.

There has been community and staff input, and if you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them.  Please click here to contact me.

23 Washington Street

The owner wants to divide the residence into three apartments, one on each floor.
