I have received an e-mail from the Board of Directors of the Cornell Ratepayer's Association that there is a growing number of incidents of vandalism in Cornell in the form of graffiti on homes and garages. In fact, I have noticed it through the Town.
The police are aware and have asked for the residents to please keep an eye open for anyone who looks to have suspicious behavior and to please report any vandalism immediately to the local authorities.
Please contact the non-emergency line at 905-881-1221 ext. 7520.
Talk to your neighbours as they may not be aware, and the more eyes there are watching our neighbourhoods, the sooner this situation will be resolved.

Cornell is one of the few areas in the Town of Markham where overnight parking is permitted with a permit. Part of the By-Law allows new areas of Cornell to permit parking if a majority of residents want it.
I asked our staff to mail a notice to all residents in the new areas to ask if they wanted the permit system extended to their areas. The results came back with a definite decline, so the overnight parking area will not be extended.

This is a question that I've been asked time and time again.
I attended a Public Meeting with the York Catholic District School Board and the Cornell Ratepayers Association to shed some light on the subject.
This web site provides a forum where I can bring you up to date on issues and events at the Town of Markham that affect the quality of living in our Ward.
